February 6 – iPad buyers are having to wait up to nine weeks for delivery because Apple is prioritising production of the iPhone 13 due to a global chip shortage, new data showed.As CEO Tim Cook has said, while Apple is generally better able than most to address the global chip shortage, the company has had to cut back on iPad production.Now new data suggest this is still happening.Kea has been tracking delivery time information for the iPad, and as of Jan. 28, 2022, the average wait time for the 64GB version in 25 countries and territories including the United States, China and Japan was 50 days, an improvement from 55 days in December.However, 50 days is the average, with buyers in the Philippines waiting 63 days for a 256GB space gray iPad, nikkei Asia reported.In Malaysia, buyers of the same model have to wait 54 days.
